In 1954 the Walton family moved to 'The Forge Hammer' Pub in Risca.

This was also when his musical interest & love of the guitar started (approx. age 10).  He would make guitars from scrap wood to sell to punters as they left after a few beers. Also making instruments with items from the pub such as crisp containers, broom handles and string. 

Alun’s love of music would lead him into forming & joining many bands spanning over a period of about 50 years.
