Porthcawl - Written by Royston Sanders

One day, early sixties, a large gang of Risca boys' decided to go to Porthcawl, there was a cavalcade consisting of Wally's father’s van, several cars and scooters, (it was a time between hippies and mods, we hadn't made our minds up) we had a glorious time and to save money we slept in bus shelter roofs, they were old fashioned shelters, stone built with slate roofs plaster board ceilings and benches all around the interior, someone had made a hole in the ceiling, not us honest! And we used to climb up and sleep off our beer intake. Come Sunday me and Wally were the only ones to drive home for our mothers Sunday roast dinner, we were both fussy eaters at the time, I went on to eat curries but Wally stuck to good old home cooking.
Rest in peace wall, love to the family
